Today: Finishing the modeling of volumes thanks to shadows
Welcome to the 20th day of my personal challenge:
21 DAYS to learn how to draw a realistic portrait with the right hand!
I am resuming my shading work today using my blending stump (tortillon) to model the contours and finish bringing volume to the face.
|
I draw the features of the mouth with greater precision. |
|
Using my blending tool, I shade the contours of the face by marking the cheekbones. In this way, I avoid marking the shape of the face too precisely, which gives an "artificial" look to the drawing. |
|
Thanks to the cast shadow from the chin onto the neck, I finalize the lower part of the face. The work on the mouth is well advanced but remains rough; the main shadows are in place, but the final details and contrast still need to be finished. |
There! I have once again exceeded the allotted time by 15'! And despite that, there is still much to do to finish the portrait
My shadows are imperfect and unbalance the symmetry of the face; there is a small defect in the nose (left nostril lower than the right), and the time I have left (15') seems insufficient to finish
See you tomorrow for the final result
